What photography means to me

 Photography to me has always been about capturing something. To an extent that's what most forms of art boil down, wether it be film, music, poetry, playwriting etc. But photography is special because of how finite and almost simplistic it can feel. An authentic photograph of an event is a second that happened once, ever, in all of human history, and never again. Forever captured. That's what a photograph is to me, capturing time. 

There's also something to be said about photography as artistic expression, which I'm sure we will go over in class. I think that photography, being a more tech focused art form, leaves room for quite a lot of bending the technology to make unique pictures.
